“…a dark and delicious exploration of textures played with explosive brilliance…” —The Strad
“A magnificent performance” —The Times
- BROUGHTON, Julian: String Quartet no 3
- BEETHOVEN: String Quartet in Bb op 18 no 6
- MENDELSSOHN: String Quartet in E minor op 44 no 2
The Bingham String Quartet has gained an international reputation for its interpretation of the classical repertoire and fresh and exciting approach to new music. Regular appearances in London include concerts at the Purcell Room and St Martin in the Fields.
The quartet has performed and recorded with many other notable musicians including clarinetist David Campbell, pianist Nigel Clayton and cellist Raphael Wallfisch.
The quartet’s many notable recordings include two CDs of the quartet’s own commissions from young British composers, so we are proud that our June concert will include a performance of the third string quartet by the Uckfield Club’s Chairman, Julian Broughton.
“The standard of performance by these stylish and highly gifted musicians was beyond all praise”
